The 5D Mk IV is generally very nice. It is a lot like the 7D, but full frame.
The 5D has a huge feature set, most of which I will likely never use. The touch screen is very nice. The low light performance is great. Oh and the quiet shutter mode may prove handy.
Being able to use an app on my iPhone as a remote control may be useful too.
The new battery grip fits the hand better than the 7D one due to the different orientation of the batteries, and while it adds a bit of heft and bulk, it makes for a good solid grip.
My main gripe is the flash sync speed of only 1/200 which is just sad.
Since EF-S lenses cannot be used on a full-frame, I needed a new walk-about lens. The EF 24-105 f/4L II IS USM is a good option. With the 5D's great performance at high ISO, f/4 should be plenty.
My dogs are black and white, it's handy to be able to shoot them in B&W at insanely high ISO using just the room lighting.
