EOS 20D

I've had this camera since October 2004, and as of October 2010 taken over 25,000 pictures with it. My daughter has now taken it for herself.

Granted most of my pics are snaps of my kids, but that's exactly what you need a fast camera for.

The weekend before I bought this, my wife had spent an afternoon at the pool trying to capture our daughter jumping into the pool with the old Coolpix, no luck. The next weekend with the 20D, I got it on the first try.

The low light performace is great, I use ISO 1600 a lot and get good results.

I never bother turning it off - it goes to sleep when idle, but wakes up instantly.

I especially like being able to move the auto-focus operation off the shutter release. I find this makes it easier to pre-focus where I expect the action to be, when shooting various sports.
